A belated update...

In surfing and maintaining my group, I'm afraid I don't blog as often as I should.

Recently (since December 2003), I've finished a short teaching stint at one my local libraries in Crochet Basics. I'm also volunteering at a local Police Athletic League (PAL) Center.

As March is National Crochet Month, I've challenged the 'Groupies' to make as many squares as they'd like for Warm Up America, a charity that assembles and distributes them to the homeless, which I'll send off after the end of the month.

In addition, I'm beading as well; some with crochet, some not.

Well, it's been awhile...

...and I know there aren't many crochet blogs out there, so between holidays, thought I'd catch this up.

I've had a pretty full plate with making items for www.hats4thehomeless.org for their year-end collection that is donated for Christmas; got a few more things I wanna finish before I send them off.

I think next year I'll focus on a local hospital to make donations too.

Recently, I've been working on shawls...2 for me, 1 for a friend and 2 bookmarks done in filet initials.

I've also been working on some original hat patterns (some to match scarves), and plan to do more designing as well as publish in the future.

I'm a CYCA ( www.craftyarncouncil.com )Certified Crochet teacher and a member of the CGOA; visit www.crochet.org for details. Also, visit my group, Von's Crochet Cyberspace at http://groups.msn.com/VonsCrochetCyberspace for a wealth of information!

I'm a beadholic, too and a member of the Bead Society.

Here I go again...

Well, with so many online presences, almost forgot about this one...maybe a little less 'puter and a little more hookin' (crocheting, that is!)

Since my last entry, I've: had an article published in Crochet! (in GGOA subscriptions only); finished a crochet bead necklace/bracelet set; finished a scarf for which I need to make a matching hat for charity; taught crochet at work during lunchtime; taught at the NYC KO&C2003 and spent way too much on beads and yarn ;)

Until next time...

My first attempt at blogging...

Hi, I'm BklynVonne and this is my crochet blog. I'm just learning about blogs, and in searching them I didn't find any devoted to crochet, so...my blog is born :)

Not quite sure how this will work (out), but I figured I'd give it a try. I also have an online crochet group at Von's Crochet Cyberspace at http://groups.msn.com/VonsCrochetCyberspace
